Within 6 months of arriving in the UK, Anand started getting involved in various music projects, notable ones being given below:

Nov 2002 - Performed for Sampad, a Midlands based creative arts organisation at Midlands Arts Centre. Collaborated with established Indian classical musicians, Western guitarist and Flutist and vocalists to produce a Fusion concert.

Jun 2006 - Raised over £2,500 for Royal National Institute for Blind (RNIB) by organising a Indian music concert at Paul Robeson Theatre, Hounslow, Greater London. Got corpoate sponsorship from The Carphone Warehouse and Jet Airways. Local newspapers covered this event twice and appreciated this community effort led by Anand. Formed Indian music band Sargam UK with musicians from Hounslow, Croydon and Harrow. Chief guest was the Deputy Mayor of Hounslow.

Feb 2007 - On an invitation from Manasamitra (http://www.manasamitra.com), performed at the Cleakton Hall in Leeds with his band Sargam UK. Attended by the Mayor of Leeds and supported by Leeds council.

Oct 2007 - Collaborating with a Neuro scientist from Cambridge (also a Tabla player), Anand performed for a Bengali Cultural Festival (Durga Puja) on the Mohan Veena. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWBRGhKjb_g

Oct 2008 - Coordinated the Diwali celebrations at The Carphone Warehouse and created a music programme that was attended by over 120 employees.

July 2009 - With Maatra, a London based percussion band, performed at the Nehru Centre (http://www.nehrucentre.org.uk ) in London, playing alongside renowned musician Ustad Fida Hussain, who has been a respected proponent of Indian classical music in the UK since the 60s.
